Excerpts from a letter from the Trip members

We would like to thank everyone in our Guiding Community who had supported us these last 2 years so we could experience a trip of a lifetime, especially our International Adviser and our Leaders.
We organized bottle drives, pub nights, bridge luncheons, cookie selling, hotdog concessions, entertainments books, magazine subsciptions to mention a few of the ways we raised the money for our trip.
We fundraised without a destination while we were awaiting invites from our International Guiding members. Finally, in November 2004, we had a destination!! We were going to an International Girl Guide camp in Denmark! Wow! We were ecstatic! The camp's theme was Hans Christian Andersen in honour of his 200th birthday! Our group left on July 21, 2005.
We spent a week in Denmark at camp. We met girls and Guiders from all over the world. We enjoyed all the camp activities and sightseeing in the town of Arhus. Some of us stayed in the small town of Give during a 3 day home-stay.
Bremen, Germany was our next stop. We visited their famous city hall and shopped in the Schnoor District.
Amsterdam was a treat and we visited the Anne Frank House, Rembrandthuis, the Reijke Museum and the Van Gogh Museum.
Brussels was Beautiful! We visited cathedrals and were awestruck by the main square.
Paris is a city to return to! We saw the Eiffel Tower, the Basilica Sacre-Coeur, the Moulin Rouge, the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Conciergerie, Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Elysees and Versailles. After Paris we returned home a little tired, homesick and happy with our memories.

If you like to have the tour group give a presentation to your Burnaby Royal unit ask your District Commissioner for details.
